Art Abandonment

Have you heard about Art Abandonment, it's a movement where you leave a piece of art for someone to find and keep.  There is a facebook page of the same name, check it out.  These are a few wooden tags collages I created and am leaving around my town. 

Working on Mixed Media pieces

Here's a little peek as some works in progress.  I utilizing all I used at summer retreats.  I'm loving the results so far.  Layer Layer Layer (sounds like an upcoming workshop for me to give myself)

Photo from the 60's enhanced with a micron, collaged over another landscape photo and added doodads.  Mrs. Casey was a 1940's word game.  All on  a 4x4 wood block which you can get from Cheap Joe's.

Getting ready to hang the show tomorrow

I've been busily working preparing for the show - hopefully the snow tomorrow is not a major event.  Here is one of my pieces. Picture from the 40's, images from a See Spot Run book, a spelling book from the 1900's, embossed background, water color paper I paper pasted on and some type of a color film I got at a garage sale.  See you at the reception this Saturday 2-4 !!

Here are my latest ATC's the theme is Vintage Christmas, I chose to use the same image, enjoy.

I've been doing chunkies (4" x 4") lately, Cheap Joe's carries wonderful wood painting panels in a variety of sizes and the pricing is good. I like having a larger work area than the ATC and it's not so daunting that you feel you can never fill the space. Try it out.

My latest bit of creating are sentiments in a shaker filled with collage items. The most fun part of this is finding the items to put into the shakers.
